Hello!

Iliana Oakes is a scientific illustrator and animator based in Newcastle, Australia. She specialises in creating digital medical illustrations to describe the complex cellular and molecular processes of stillbirth research. Always been fascinated by the molecular sciences, Iliana is excited to be doing research that combines both art and science in her PhD. Her current research focuses on creating 3D models and animations to explain the quantum mechanical processes of stillbirth in collaboration with scientific researchers at Hunter Medical Research Institute.
